{"id":15907,"date":"2026-05-14T10:00:07","date_gmt":"2026-05-14T08:00:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fornovogas.it\/?p=15907"},"modified":"2026-05-21T11:12:08","modified_gmt":"2026-05-21T09:12:08","slug":"burckhardt-signs-deal-to-acquire-italian-biogas-compressor-business","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fornovogas.it\/pt-br\/burckhardt-signs-deal-to-acquire-italian-biogas-compressor-business\/","title":{"rendered":"Burckhardt signs deal to acquire Italian biogas compressor business"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Swiss compressor technology company Burckhardt Compression (Burckhardt) has signed an agreement to acquire Italian compressor manufacturer Fornovo Gas (Fornovo), strengthening its position in the European biogas market.<\/p>\n<p>Expected to close within the next two months, the deal will see Burckhardt integrate Fornovo\u2019s mid-sized reciprocating compressors into its existing compression solutions portfolio.<\/p>\n<p>Fornovo employs around 120 people and generates multi-million CHF sales, with profitability in line with Burckhardt\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p>Fabrice Billard, CEO of Burckhardt, said, \u201cCombining Fornovo\u2019s capabilities with Burckhardt\u2019s global presence will strengthen our position in applications supporting global energy security and the energy transition.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Compressor technology supports the production and upgrading of biogas by enabling the movement and storage of biogas and biomethane generated through the anaerobic fermentation and purification of biomass.<\/p>\n<p>The European Biogas Association (EBA) reported <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gasworld.com\/story\/regulatory-uncertainty-causes-modest-growth-in-biogas-and-biomethane-in-europe\/2169851.article\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">modest growth<\/a> in biogas and biomethane production between 2023 and 2024, of 0.3 billion cubic metres (bcm).<\/p>\n<p>The EBA also believes there is significant potential to scale biogas and biomethane markets if the right regulatory conditions are in place across Europe.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Swiss compressor technology company Burckhardt Compression (Burckhardt) has signed an agreement to acquire Italian compressor manufacturer Fornovo Gas (Fornovo), strengthening its position in the European biogas market.
