Forty years of direct management of Fornovo Gas owned refuelling stations have allowed the customer to benefit from the competence and experience acquired in the field.

Six refuelling stations located radially around the central station of Reggio Emilia were designed, built and put into operation by Fornovo Gas, a company that today directly handles the sale of natural gas, the management and maintenance of the refuelling stations and the upgrading of the installations in place.

All the stations serve privately owned vehicles, with capacities from 600 (Cavriago) to 6000 Sm³/h (Traversetolo). The number of compressors and pumps at each station is determined by the mains gas pressure and the daily demand. Fornovo Gas owns and runs 19 compressors and 30 pumps, and has accumulated more total operating hours than any other concern in Italy or abroad.

Each station is fed by a main natural gas line with the exception of Cavriago, which is a subsidiary station and is re-supplied by gas tanker truck. The parent station of Traversetolo not only refuels vehicles, but also fills gas tanker trucks to re-supply subsidiary stations and tanker trucks for civil applications.

The chain of Fornovo Gas refuelling stations holds the record for annual gas sales for road vehicle applications with a volume of 2.2 MMSm³, or 9% of the Italian market. The outstanding productivity of the refuelling stations, which operate with a coefficient of usage of around 90%, has been made possible by the superior reliability of proven Fornovo Gas processes and the quality of the company’s maintenance programmes. This means that the chain of stations can operate remarkably efficiently, for maximum profitability.
